Gallantry Awards: Indian Army's brave Abhinandan received 'Veer Chakra', shot down Pakistani fighter plane.

Gallantry Awards: Gallantry awards are being given to the heroes of the Indian Army today. President Ram Nath Kovind is giving away the awards at a function. Group Captain Abhinandan has been awarded 'Vir Chakra' in the Indian Army. Abhinandan Varthaman shot down Pakistani fighter jet F-16 after Balakot airstrike. Abhinandan was the Wing Commander at that time.


The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, presented Gallantry Awards and Distinguished Service Decorations at the Defence Investiture Ceremony-I held at Rashtrapati Bhavan this morning (November 22, 2021). 

This was the first set of awards for the year 2020, the second set of awards will be presented this evening at the Defence Investiture Ceremony-II.

Along with Abhinandan, Prakash Jadhav of the Indian Army has been given the Kirti Chakra, the second highest peacetime gallantry award, for neutralizing the attack of terrorists in an operation in Jammu and Kashmir. This award is being given posthumously. Prakash Jadhav's wife has received this award.






Along with this, Major Vibhuti Shankar Dhoundiyal has been given Shaurya Chakra (posthumously) for his role in an operation. Five terrorists were killed in this operation. And 200 kg of explosive material was recovered. Major Vibhuti Shankar was awarded the Shaurya Chakra for his exceptional role. This award was handed over to his family members.

Wing Commander Abhinandan Vardhaman was honored with the Vir Chakra Award today. President Ram Nath Kovind honored Abhinandan Varthaman. Wing Commander Abhinandan shot down Pakistan's fighter aircraft F-16 after the Balakot airstrike. He has been honored today for the bravery of Abhinandan.
