Navy to commission INS Visakhapatnam today, 21st November 2021.

On Sunday 24th November, the Indian Navy will commission the INS Visakhapatnam at Naval Dockyard in Mumbai. INS Visakhapatnam is the first ship of project 15B and it will claim India's presence in an elite group of nations who have the capability to make advanced warships.



The Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will mark his presence in the ceremony as a chief guest. He gave the information through a tweet on Saturday. He wrote, "will be in Mumbai tomorrow, 21st November full stop looking forward to attending the commissioning ceremony of INS Visakhapatnam. The event marks the former induction of the first of the four 'Visakhapatnam' class destroyers, into the Indian Navy.

The ship was launched on 28th April 2015 and today on 21st November 2021 it will be commissioned. The ship is equipped with indigenous equipment in 'float' and 'move' categories and some major weapons like indigenous medium range surface to air missile systems, surface to surface missiles, torpedo tubes and launches.

The Defence Minister office, today shared the introducing video of INS Visakhapatnam and wrote, "She is vigilant, She is valiant, She shall always be victorious! India's first indigenous P15 Bravo destroyer 'Visakhapatnam' ready for commissioning".
