In this age and time mental peace has become a topic that is highly pensive. The ongoing pandemic contributed the most to it. Mental peace plays the most significant role irrespective of the age or occupation of a person. But generally, it goes unnoticed or is given less importance in our lives. Peace of mind is having no stress and a feeling of being happy, on the contrary, each one of us is trapped in the cage of stress.
IMPORTANCE
Mental peace is extremely
important for concentration. Concentration in life is important for each one of
us, students without concentration have no choice to study well, a professional
with concentration can never work well. Being short-tempered is another
grievance in our lives, especially among youngsters. And lack of mental peace
is the basic reason for short temperateness. We aren’t able to put our minds at
ease and tend to lose our temper. It also affects our relationships and social
life. “Only when we are happy, we can make our closer ones happy”, thus, mental
peace make us happy and also let us make our surrounding happy. And the most
important thing in our life is being happy, isn’t it?
Another hassle in our
lives is insomnia i.e., lack of sleep which is also caused by the absence of
mental peace. Having a nice and relaxing sleep gives the energy to work the
whole next day and there comes the importance of mental peace which not only
gives us the energy to work but also aids in conserving our energy for the next
day.
The more important it is
the more it is ignored. We, in our busy schedule, tend to forget to keep our
mental peace and face multiple complications in our different daily activities.
WHO SUFFERS THE MOST?
There is no specific age,
gender, or occupation of a person who suffers from mental disturbance.
Different people suffer from different stress and troubling thoughts. Be it a
student or a professional or a homemaker they all somewhere suffer. This
pandemic has added fuel to the fire. At this time when everyone was packed
inside their house and was not able to move out, stress was unavoidable. The
working hours increased and the time for relaxing kept on decreasing, students
time for studies also increased and so as the burden on the minds of people
also increased.
WHAT CAN IT LEAD TO?
Overthinking is a habit that slowly develops inside a person without a trace. We do not pay much attention to it but overthinking leads to mental restlessness which affects our daily lives to a great extent. The importance of mental peace explained above also carries the different mess it causes in our lives. Such as losing temper, lack of concentration, having troubles thoughts, insomnia, etc. these problems look like minor hurdles but they lead to major drawbacks in our lives. Studies say that mental restlessness can even lead to depression.
YOGA AS CURE
Since stress or
overthinking is unavoidable in our lives, we should better find something to
reduce its effect. Yoga is proven to be one of the biggest cures for mental
restlessness. Yoga not only helps to keep good physic but also is an excellent
way to keep our minds at ease.
In our daily busy life,
if we can take some time out and keep ourselves company, it can relax our mind
a lot. Sitting in a meditation posture, stop our minds from wandering and
overthinking. It makes us forget all the stressful and unhappy or unhappening things
going on in our surroundings. It diminishes the heavy burden of stress from us
and makes us feel light.
The core problem lies because
of increasing stress. We tend to fill our minds with stress and the worst part
is that it’s not in our control. If we cannot control stress entering into our
minds, the only thing we can do is to put that stress out from time to time. Here
yoga comes into play.
Yoga replenishes the lost
energy within us and helps us put all the stress and disturbing thoughts
outside our minds. And when our mind is free, we can easily find our mental
peace and make ourselves and our surroundings happy. In this pandemic, people
are spending most of their time in their homes, we can utilize these moments
and work towards giving our minds enough space to breathe and live happily.
