A massive fire broke out in a three-storey commercial building located near the metro station in Delhi's Mundka area on Friday evening. 27 people including the woman died in the accident, while 12 people got scorched, who were sent to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital after making green corridor.
Till late night, 30 fire tenders were engaged in
extinguishing the fire. Director of Fire Department Atul Garg said that 26
bodies had been pulled out of the building till 11 pm, while one woman died
after jumping. Right now, many people are feared to be trapped in the building,
so the death toll may also increase. However, fire brigade and policemen
together got 50 people out of the building safely. The police have taken into
custody Harish Goyal and Varun Goel, the operators of the company operating on
the first floor. The owner of the building, Manish Lakra, is also being
questioned.
Witnesses said that there was chaos as soon as the fire broke out in the first floor. People trapped in the building were trying to get out. Locals are talking about the generator causing the fire.
He said that people could not see anything because of the
smoke. Some people saved their lives by jumping off the building. As soon as
the information about the fire started, hundreds of people from nearby reached
there.

There was a jam due to the gathering of people. There were
also some who reached there who worked in open offices in their own building.
He was trying to know his condition by calling his acquaintances, when he did
not get the information, he was reaching the police. Later, the police removed
the people from the spot and started relief work.
Police investigation revealed that a company meeting was going on the third floor at the time of the accident. A large number of people were present in the meeting. The police have taken the owner of the company into custody and are interrogating him. It is feared that some people were trapped there after the fire. Some of the people involved in the meeting are still missing. The fire department will start the search operation after dousing the fire. At present the fire department is trying to control the fire.

Metro operation also affected
This building is situated on the side of Rohtak road. In such a situation, the operation of the metro was also blocked for some time while the flames rose. Later, operations were resumed after controlling the fire.
There was no NOC of fire in the building
In the building in Mundka area where the fire broke out,
many offices were being run without fire NOC. The amazing thing is that more
than 100 people were present in the building at one time, but despite that the
owner of the building did not make any special arrangements for fire prevention
there. Sources say that a single living was used to enter and leave the
building. There was no fire exit arrangement in the building to escape in case
