ICC T 20 World Cup: Afghanistan wins against Scotland

The 17th match of ICC T20 World Cup was between Afghanistan and Scotland. It was a super 12 Group 2 match, played in Sarjah Cricket Stadium.


The match started with the toss and Afghanistan won the toss and choose to bat first.

In the first inning, Afghanistan scored a target of 190 runs with a loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs, in which Nazibullah scored the highest 59(34) with a strike rate of 173.53, in which he hit 5 fours and 3 sixes. The second highest scorer was Gurbaz 46(37) with a strike rate of 124.32 in which he hit 1 four and 4 sixes.

Scotland gave 8 extras to Afghanistan.

Safyaan Sharif from Scotland took 2 wickets giving 33 runs in 4 overs and Davey and Mark Walt took one wicket each.

In the second innings,

Scotland lost all its wickets with the score of 60 runs in just 10.2 overs.

The highest run scorer from Scotland was George Munsey 25 (18) with a hit of 2 fours and 2 sixes.

From the bowling end, Mohammad Nabi took wickets by giving just 11 runs in 4 overs and Rashid Khan took 4 wickets by giving 9 runs in 2.2 overs.’

Afghanistan gave 5 extras.
