The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has recently released stunning new images of the Earth, which were captured by the Earth Observation Satellite (EOS-06), also known as Oceansat-3. These images were taken using the Ocean Colour Monitor (OCM) and assembled into a mosaic by the National Remote Sensing Center (NRSC).
This is how North America looks from Space
This spectacular mosaic showcases every continent of the planet, including some glimpses of India shining brightly from space. To create each mosaic, a massive 300 GB of data was processed by combining 2,939 high-resolution images captured between February 1-15, 2023. The NRSC/ISRO generated a global false colour composite mosaic with a 1 km spatial resolution to show the Earth as seen during that period.

In a tweet, ISRO shared these breath taking images, along with some details about the OCM, which can sense the Earth in 13 distinct wavelengths to provide information about global vegetation cover on Land and Ocean Biota for global oceans. The OCM's observations have a significant impact on global climate change research and the fishing industry, among other things.
The images have gone viral on social media, with many people expressing their pride in India's technological capabilities. Many people have also hailed ISRO for its efforts and expressed their admiration for the organization's remarkable work.

As one Twitter user pointed out, the images have also helped to showcase the true scale of different continents and challenged the western agenda of portraying themselves as superior in every context. The images have also provided a unique perspective on our planet, highlighting the beauty and
diversity of the natural world that we inhabit.
Overall, the release of these images is a testament to India's growing technological prowess and the impressive work being done by the country's space research organization. With continued investments and research in this field, we can expect to see more ground-breaking discoveries and innovations in the
future.
