PATNA: The newly elected students cabinet and council members of St Xavier’s College of Management and Technology, Patna, assumed their new responsibilities after an induction ceremony on Tuesday, October 26, 2021.

The students cabinet and
council members were administered oath by acting Rector, Fr Martin Poras, SJ.
Addressing the new
office-bearers, Fr Martin Poras, SJ outlined the goals and objectives of the
two student bodies. “The students cabinet and council will provide you with
opportunities to exercise your leadership skills and help you to learn the
importance of team work. As members of these bodies you will also act as a link
between the students and college management,” he said.

Director,
research and training, government of Bihar, Dr Binodanand Jha, narrated a
spiritual story of Buddhist master Nagarjuna and a thief while urging the
students to spread the light of quality education that they were receiving at
SXCMT. He also distributed certificates to winners of different activities
organised by the college.

Principal, Fr T Nishaant SJ, said the college believed in shaping and creating
leaders. “The country today needs able leaders so that we lived in a just and
humane society.

portrait of former Rector, Fr Joy Karyampuram SJ, who passed away in April this
year due to Covid-related complications, was also unveiled on the occasion. The
portrait has been made by graphic designer, Mr Tapeshwar Prasad.
The
event was anchored by Udit Narayan and Swati Mishra. Shweta proposed the vote
of thanks.
