Meghalaya Chief Minister Cornad Sangam said that the proposal of all three regional committes with Assam has been accepted by the State cabinet.
On Wednesday, he also stated that along with his Assam partner Himanta Biswa Sarma will meet Union Domestic Serve Amit Shah to yield the suggestions of the committees set up to settle border debate between the two state.
He included that the suggestions of the boards in Meghalaya as well as in Assam will be submitted to the Union home minister on Thursday.
“We have too considered ethnicity as something exceptionally important,” Sangma said, concurring to PTI. “Both the Assam and the Meghalaya governments have felt emphatically that any of the state may attempt to claim an region but in case the individuals living in that zone don’t wish to be in a specific state, one cannot drive them.”
