Children aged from 15-18 can now enroll their names for getting vaccinated on CoWIN from January 1.
“CoWIN app will be open to register the kids aged 15-18 for vaccination from Jan 1. The children who don’t have Aadhaar card or other identity cards can give their 10th ID cards for registration” said Dr RS Sharma.

On Saturday Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared from Jan 3 the vaccination process from aged 15-18 will be started. “Precautionary doses” will be given to healthcare and frontline workers and people of age 60 and above who are suffering from “co-morbidities” can get booster dose from doctors consultation from January 10,2022” he said. Co-morbidities refers to a person suffering from two or more disease at the same time.
“61% of the population above 18 years are fully vaccinated whereas approx 90% of the population are done with the first dose of vaccine” stated PM Modi.
Nine month gap is required for people receiving third dose of vaccine. The Health ministry said “Giving third dose of vaccine to the workers are matter to abounding precaution”. In January about 93 crore healthcare and frontline workers are eligible for third dose of vaccine. They can register themselves from their existed CoWIN accounts.
