The Indigenously developed High-speed Expendable Aerial Target [HEAT] ABHYAS, first flight test was successfully dealt by DRDO.
Flight test of the indigenously developed High-speed expendable Aerial Target (HEAT) ABHYAS by Defence research and development organization (DRDO) on Thursday.
Integrated Test Range (ITR) victoriously conducted flight test of ABHYAS at the coast of Odisha, Chandipur. During the trial, it was demonstrated that a high subsonic speed trajectory at a very low altitude with high bearing.
“Two booster provided initial acceleration during launch and a small turbojet engine is used to sustain high supersonic speed with long endurance” stated DRDO. It is designed to meet the aerial target of Indian armed forces. Bengaluru-based Aeronautics Development Establishment (AED) has designed it with other laboratories of DRDO.
With the help of flight control computer, navigation system operated will be controlling the Aircraft. According to the information HEAT displays a synergy between the scientific community and the industry stated by defence minister Rajnath singh.
