final of the ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup is set to take place at Senwes Park
in Potchefstroom on Sunday, with India and England battling for the title.
After a thrilling two weeks of action featuring 16 national teams, the
inaugural Women's U19 T20 World Cup has reached its climax with the final
scheduled for 5:15 PM (IST). India secured their spot in the final with a
dominant performance against New Zealand in the first semi-final, while England
triumphed in a nail-biting match against Australia in the second semi-final.
The Indian bowlers were in top form, taking wickets at regular intervals to restrict New Zealand's powerful batting line-up to just 107/9 in their 20 overs. Parshavi Chopra stood out with her performance, taking 3/20, while Captain Shafali Verma impressed with her figures of 7 runs in four overs and one wicket. India's opening batter and leading scorer of the tournament, Shweta Sehrawat, then sealed the win with a ruthless half-century, finishing unbeaten on 61* as India reached the target in
14.2 overs.

In the second semi-final, England faced a tough challenge as Australia's sparkling bowling attack sent their top order tumbling to 45/7. However, a determined partnership between Alexa Stonehouse
and Josie Groves helped England recover to a total of 99 all out, keeping the game just about alive. But England's bowlers then pulled off an unlikely victory, bowling Australia out for 96, just three runs short of the target. Hannah Baker starred with 3/10 from four overs, while Captain Grace Scrivens delivered a dramatic conclusion with her figures of 2/8 from 3.4 overs and her run-a-ball 20 with the bat.
