China became the World's Richest Nation, leaving the US behind.

According to a study, the net worth worldwide, which was $156 trillion in 2000, now became $514 trillion. 



China, having a mere worth of $7 trillion in 2000, now is leading the list with $120 trillion. This was a jump of $113 trillion in the past two decades.

The global wealth tripled over the last two decades, leaving the US to the second spot capturing the lead. The United States also marked the double increase in it's net worth in the same duration at $90 trillion, but failed to defeat China due to it's muted increase in property sales.


The report came from the research arm of consultants McKinsey and Co. which examines the national balance sheets of ten countries representing more than 60% of world income. Jan Mischke, a partner at the McKinsey Global institute at Zurich said in an interview that, "we are now wealthier than we have ever been".
