No need for lockdown in the city yet: Kejriwal says

On Sunday morning in a virtual press conference said that there is no need to impose a lockdown in Delhi If everyone wear masks properly.


He said that the city has reported approx. 22,000 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours. He appealed people to wear masks and no need to go outside until or unless it’s compulsory and maintain a safe distance. He said, “Rising casas are a matter of concern but there is no need to get panic, just wear mask. There will not be a lockdown if you all continue to wear masks.

The CM along with the Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal and the centre will keep a close eye on this situation.

“Our attempt is to impose minimum restrictions so livelihoods are not affected”, Mr Kejriwal said in the press conference. PM Modi announces 26th Dec as "Veer Baal Diwas"

According to data by health department, Delhi recorded 20,181 new covid cases and logged seven deaths on Saturday. The positivity rate rose to 19.60%.
