CHALLENGES AS
OPPORTUNITIES
This path wasn’t easy at
all. She faced a lot of challenges in her path. But she never took it as
hurdles but opportunities. In the beginning, when she started this career as a
trainer, she and her husband faced a lot of financial hardships yet both of
them stick to their ideation of free training, not to charge a single penny for
their work.
Also, Dr. Seema had to adopt a child by dropping the idea of having her child. Because of her work domain, she needs to travel to remote locations, through harsh weather, also she needs to go through hard training which made her realize that she can’t carry her baby, so she adopted a baby girl. Due to her work, she even had to miss her father’s funeral.
Due to her work domain,
she has also suffered multiple injuries, she fell from a height of about 40fts
and had a vertebral fracture which made her stay in a wheelchair for a long,
she even had to go through a serve head surgery due to which she lost her
memory and cannot recognize anyone other than her husband. She also had other
injuries but it never made her stop serving the nation.
RECOGNITION
She has won many awards
on the National and International levels. She received World Peace Award by the
World Peace Congress, Malaysia awarded by the Prime Minister of Malaysia for
contribution to the country in 2008, the US President’s Volunteer Service
Award, and about 1,000 felicitations from the Indian Government.
Even after receiving all
these awards, she decided to stay low. She declined all the offers of being
featured in different magazines like New Women, India Today Femina, etc. She is
a perfect example that there are no boundaries when it comes to achieving one’s
dream, and being a woman is the smallest obstacle in the path of dreams. She is
a perfect role model for several others for hard work and also an absolute
answer to every question raised on the capability of a woman.
