One of the most notable improvements in Android 14 is the bigger fonts with non-linear scaling, which will allow developers to test and tweak the font size up to 200 percent, compared to the current 130 percent on Pixel devices. This new feature is accessible by selecting Setting > Accessibility > Display size and text settings. The improved font scaling is also applicable to big screens and foldable devices.

In addition to the new font scaling, Android 14 is also implementing an updated security and privacy feature, where most newly-installed apps will not be pre-granted permissions, but instead, will be denied by default. This will give users greater control over the permissions they grant to their apps.

Another improvement in the Android 14 operating system is the optimization of battery usage by apps running in the background. This will help prevent unwanted apps from draining the phone's battery and also allow apps to use less power when downloading files in the background. The update will also include updated lists of restricted non-SDK interfaces.
